Thomas A. Edwards established Residential Development, Inc. in 1994.  It began as a small landscaping business with one truck, one small skidsteer machine, and a dream.  That dream was to morph into what has become a full service general contracting business that employs up to 20 people in season with many of them staying on full time in the shoulder season.  Tom, through his experiences of renovating his own properties, noticed there was a great demand for many services related to the building and land development industry that were difficult to retain.  Often times his own projects were delayed due to broken promises from sub-contractors.  Realizing there was an opportunity to expand his business and offer his clients a wider variety of services to better serve them he committed to doing just that.  Resulting from that is what we refer to as “one stop shopping.”  When you choose Residential Development, Inc. you know that all work to be performed will be done by our staff in a timely and professional manner.  That peace of mind is priceless when you know you can count on your contractor to follow through with their commitments.  We are also one of the few contactors you can call with a question or comment and talk to a live person who will provide you with the answers you need in most cases the same day.

Accountability is another asset which helps separate us from the rest.  We stress safety and conduct OSHA training meetings regularly with our staff keeping them aware of the liabilities and potential hazards that can occur during site work or construction.  We have 100% safety record for personnel as well as property damage.
